Met another section-hiker (trailname: Get Away) and had a nice break from hiking along with a good chat about what else, hiking gear! super fun day - I'm gonna be tired when the day is done!

Appalachian Trail - My full kit

Today I went on trail with my full kit including the new Bear Vault 450 Jaunt. I needed to know how it was going to feel in my pack... the verdict is good! The Osprey Exos has awesome ventilation with the trampoline style AirSpeed system.

A food-centric hike

The last couple of hikes I've gone on have ended with me bonking... seriously Silly, I know better! So today I hiked 5 miles with a nice midpoint break to refuel and hydrate with some electrolytes (LMNT raspberry salt). Before I started back down the mountain I loaded up with Honey Stinger Caffeine Gummies... it's too hot for afternoon coffee! I rewarded myself with ribs from Two Fat Butchers 😋
