Thanksgiving with Silly, Part B

After I was thoroughly satisfied with my hike I made way to my Yurt! After settling in I prepared a Thanksgiving feast! overnight the temperature plummeted into the low 30's, but I stayed toasty warm in my 20° quilt!

Thanksgiving with Silly, Part A

I started my day with a big hike that stitched together many trails!

An overcast walk in the woods

I took a walk today, and it was very overcast. In fact I'm glad it didn't start raining on me!

Also, there's a wildfire on Bear Den Mountain to the south. The Appalachian Trail is closed from Turk Gap to Rockfish Gap. About 30 acres are involved. The fire was started by a faulty transformer (as told to me to by a park ranger).

Today is National Take A Hike Day so I did just that!

Celebrating 100 miles on the Bear Bottom Loop Trail!

Today I officially notched my 20th hike of the Bear Bottom Loop Trail! The weather was beyond beautiful. It's also my 1st hike of the season wearing gloves! To mark the occasion I got a BBLT patch... now, which pack to put it on?

I thought it would be nice to have a walk in the crunchy leaves today... mission accomplished!

Snead Farm Loop Via Dickey Hill

I haven't done this loop in quite a while. Originally my plan was to hike at the state park, but it was closed for a wildlife management hunt.
