New kicks! Altra Lone Peak 9+

I've been wanting to give the Lone Peak 9+ a look see (I love my LP 7 and 8). The big difference here is the Vibram sole which is from what I'm observing stiffer, and possibly more rugged. The velcro gaiter tab on the back is still there as well as a lace hook tab. I can't wait to get Trail dirt on these.

Today was about reflection and processing... heres a few pics ftom the trail.

Passamaquoddy Loop part one

This hike started along the Appalachian Trail going north up Stony Man Mountain. The next part of the trai was to turn onto the Passamaquoddy trail at a junction under Little Stony Man. This trail follows a contour under both sets of cliffs. A third turn put me on the Furnace Spring Trail which led back to where I'd begun my day.

Appalachian Trail: The Pinnacles, Byrd's Nest #3, and beyond

I logged a bunch of miles on the Appalachian Trail today starting from Jewell Hollow and heading north... the weather was stunning! Met a bubble of southbound thru-hikers and chatted for a bit, then stopped for lunch at Byrd's Nest #3 shelter.
